The typical supermarket application will consist of strategically placed sample points in three areas: Inside the compressor room, inside the cooled spaces and outside the spaces where fittings or valves might be prone to leak.
A typical system will consist of an IR-SNIF-MCD8 with sample points in the compressor room, at least one in each walk in cooler or freezer, possibly sample points above the walk-in near defrost valves and sample points near refrigerated cases. The separate locations can be notified separately by adding Individual Zone Alarm Output option. This consists of up to eight additional DPDT relays that can be mapped to each sample area and mapped to different alarm levels. Audible and visual alarms would be required in the compressor room and inside any occupied cooled space (walk-in coolers or freezers). Audible and visual alarms are not usually placed in the retail area as monitoring that space is for maintenance purposes.
